Eric H. Conn, MD, FACC
Dr. Eric Conn’s interest in medicine began early in life. While growing up, his interest in medicine was cultivated by spending summers at the University of Pennsylvania working as a technician in cardiovascular research laboratories. At home, his father, an academic cardiologist, served to further enhance his interest in the field of medicine. Dr. Conn’s continued involvement and dedication to cardiac research during his formal medical training led to his receipt of the first Merck Fellowship of the American College of Cardiology. He continues his focus in the newest advancements in cardiovascular care at The Chattanooga Heart Institute, with emphasis on interventional cardiology and a wide variety of patient research studies.

Before moving to Chattanooga in 1982, Dr. Conn was on the medical faculty at Duke University Medical Center and director of the Medical Center's Coronary Care Unit. He served as president of the Chattanooga chapter of the American Heart Association, and as chief of staff at Memorial Hospital. He currently serves on Memorial’s board of directors and is chairman of the board of the Chattanooga Heart Institute. He is a member of the Chattanooga and Hamilton County Medical Society, the American Heart Association, the American Medical Association and the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Conn received his medical degree from Duke Medical School in North Carolina, graduating as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (a national medical honor society). He served his residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut and his cardiology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology with a subspecialty and board certification in interventional cardiology.
