James W. Hoback, Jr., MD, FACC
The first physician in the Chattanooga area to perform a directional coronary atherectomy (DCA), Dr. James Hoback remains on the forefront of cardiac advancements. He received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed both his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. Dr. Hoback served as director of the Hennepin County Medical Center's Heart Station in Minnesota before moving to Chattanooga. He is also a clinical assistant professor with the Department of Internal Medicine, Cardiology, at Erlanger. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology.
Dr. Hoback is currently a member of the Chattanooga and Hamilton County Medical Society, the Tennessee Medical Association and the American Medical Association. He is also a member of the American Heart Association's Council of Clinical Cardiology and the American College of Cardiology.
