David M. Salerno, MD, FACC
Dr. David Salerno was Chattanooga's first electrophysiologist. His expertise includes arrhythmia management, radiofrequency ablation and automatic defibrillator implantation.
Dr. Salerno moved to Chattanooga from Minnesota where he had served as a staff cardiologist at 11 of Minneapolis' area hospitals. He served on the Minnesota’s Hennepin County Medical Center's Trauma Committee and Human Subjects Research Committee. He served as associate professor at the University of Minnesota's Department of Medicine for 13 years.
Dr. Salerno has a medical degree from Albany Medical College in New York. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in invasive cardiology at the University of Washington in Seattle. He is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine.
Dr. Salerno is a member of the Chattanooga and Hamilton County Medical Society, the American Medical Association and on the American Heart Association's Council on Clinical Cardiology. He is also a member of the American College of Cardiology and North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology.
