David J. Wendt, MD, FACC
Dr. Wendt received a bachelor in science degree and a graduate degree from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. He served his internship in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit where he also completed his residency and served as Chief Medical Resident. After completing his residency, he received a public health service research award to investigate the role of the autonomic nervous system on the conduction of the cardiac impulse.
Dr. Wendt completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Iowa. He completed a fellowship in electrophysiology at Duke University Medical Center.
Dr. Wendt served on the faculty at Duke University continuing his basic research, supervising in the coronary care unit, and perfecting skills in the emerging field of interventional cardiac electrophysiology. He has authored or co-authored nearly 30 papers on various areas of cardiology and electrophysiology.
