Nurse Practitioners

The Chattanooga Heart physicians have carefully chosen our nurse practitioners for their ability to closely work alongside them in managing your care. Our nurse practitioners all have master’s degrees in advance practice nursing and specialized training in cardiac care.

josh-blackJosh Black holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga where he was a National Society of Collegiate Scholars Member and Student Director of the UTC Christian Student Center. Josh has been with The Chattanooga Heart Institute since 2013.

michael-loga Michael Loga is a nurse practitioner in practice with cardiothoracic surgeons Drs. Wilson Clements and James Zellner. Michael has extensive experience in adult cardiac and critical care. He received a Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2006 from the University of Tennessee. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Adventist University. Prior to joining The Chattanooga Heart Institute, he worked for a number of years as a registered nurse then as a nurse practitioner at the Alliance of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgeons. Prior to that position, Michael worked as a nurse at Memorial Hospital for 13 years.

kelly-phillipsKelly Phillips received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Kelly graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a bachelor of science in nursing degree. She has 21 years of health care experience with 11 of those years working as a nurse practitioner in adult cardiology practices.

sally-randallSally Randall has been with The Chattanooga Heart Institute since 2013 working with our cardiologists both in the hospital and in the office setting. She is an adjunct professor at Southern Adventist University. In addition to a Master of Science in Nursing, Sally also holds a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in Health and Wellness.

holly-rogersHolly Rogers holds a Master of Science degree in Advance Practice Nursing from Southern Adventist University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Technological University. Holly has 22 years health care experience with 13 of those years spent working specifically in cardiology.

greg-smithGreg Smith received a Master of Science degree in Advance Practice Nursing from Emory University in Atlanta in 1996. He has 20 years of experience as a nurse practitioner with 11 of those years specifically in cardiology both in the hospital and office settings. In addition to his experience in cardiology, he has worked as a nurse practitioner in family medical practices.

rachel-thomasRachel Thomas is a nurse practitioner in practice with cardiothoracic surgeons Drs. Wilson Clements and James Zellner. She is a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with special training in cardiology and caring for post-operative cardio-thoracic patients. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Rachel worked for six years as a registered nurse in the cardiovascular intensive care unit. Rachel holds a Master of Science degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Southern Adventist University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
